DRAWING WEEK 5

26 AUGUST, 2019.

The fifth week of drawing started with the basic explanation of shading, Miss showed us three techniques of shading i.e. gradient, stippling and cross-hatching.

Thereafter we were asked to form groups and take any type of leaves and flowers and start with the sketching of it. I started with the sketching of a leaf, in the start I wasn’t able to shade properly later I took help from the teacher she told me that I wasn’t applying pressure equally. So later i got the hang of it and finally learnt how to shade. Todays class was quite interesting because i like doing observation drawing. bellow are my class work

method used: Gradation method: this requires an accurate amount of pressure on the pencil to give the drawing a smooth realistic finish.

Stippling: it’s all about dots but and the intensity of these dots. first we have to use a lighter shade to draw dots and then go on building it up using darker shades.

Cross hatching: In the above method i learnt that we have to sketch out lines in a specific direction. and to increase the intensity, we can change the direction of the lines with every layer.

Later miss checked our human figures which she told us to redo it. she educated me the proportion of my hands were still not perfect.
