For todays class we had to study a particular object and make few mind maps, the class was divided in groups of three and each person had to make a mind map based on any two specialisations of their choice. I chose FCS and fashion design as my 2 specialisations. For fashion design i chose Akbar’s Personalized Armor Design Innovation and for FCS i chose pagdis.


Studying Buddha through various different cultures and art schools was very interesting. I learnt about, the Gandhara school of art.In Gandhara school, buddhas facial features are softer compared to other schools, eg: the eyes were carved into the shape of lotus petals and the overall look on his face was very peaceful. then we also compared the various art schools and their styles through sculptures of Buddha and how each art school had a different style. The way the ushnisha was portrayed was different in every culture.In Buddhist iconography, the white elephant is associated with queen Maya, Buddha’s mother. The white elephant also has special significance and is associated with royalty in Thailand and is considered a symbol of good luck in various other cultures.In the next half of the class we were given a brief, on our next project we had to think of a design innovation, intervention, problem or solution for 1 object and write an essay on the object with regard to the options given, Based on the images and objects we selected for each specialisation
