3RD FEBUARY 2020
This week was a review of the project that was given the week before, (topic- waste management
) the survey was divided into 3 types- residential, independent shops and both We all surveyed multiple people belonging to different sectors of industry- such as electronic, food/raw meat, textile, stationery etc.
many shop owners weren’t aware of the three r’s but still practiced them without knowing about the importance of the same.
the collection of waste was mostly same, it varied from family to family and depended on the number of members there were in the family.
while talking to people in markets we learnt that most of them had segregated dustbins and knew the importance of separating waste but they were also aware that once the waste goes to the into truck its mixed and then the point of keeping segregated dustbins is nullified.
Next, were given the brief for our next assignment which included researching on our topics with Mumbai being the base for our research, we also had to research both the internal and external stakeholders of the same.
REFLECTION: by doing this survey I got to know about others perspectives . I also learnt more about waste management . techniques used by people to segregate waste like in one of the society I interviewed they had a strict rule in which if you don’t segregate your waste your waste wont be collected and you will have to pay a fine of 500.rs .
